Have you ever picked up a book and felt, somehow, that you were meant to find it?

My grandmother would often remind me that if the Lord wants you to know something, He finds a way to either place it in your hands or along your path so that you will notice it there.

She would call those “God moments.”

A God moment is one of those quiet moments in life that causes us to pause. Something reaches beyond our busy thoughts and gently tugs at our hearts.

It may be a conversation… a song… a sunrise… a verse of Scripture… or even a book that somehow finds its way into our hands at exactly the right time.

Those moments have always felt deeply personal to me. Over the years, I have come to treasure them, because they have a beautiful way of reaching my heart when I least expect it.

They are the moments that cause me to stop long enough to listen. And when my heart becomes still enough to listen, something within me awakens that words alone cannot explain.

Those simple little God moments are the breadcrumbs the Lord gently places along our path, inviting us to keep moving forward one step at a time.

I have come to believe that the Lord often reaches our hearts gently rather than dramatically. Sometimes that gentle nudge moves us to encourage someone who is hurting. Sometimes it inspires an unexpected act of kindness. Sometimes it gives us the courage to make a difficult decision, or simply to pause long enough to see something we might otherwise have missed.

Those gentle moments may seem small at the time, but they often leave the deepest imprint upon our souls.

I have always looked at them with curiosity.

Not because I already know what they mean, but because something deep within me recognizes that my soul has something it longs to understand.

In those quiet moments, I find myself wondering… What is the Lord trying to show me?

Lord… what are You trying to share with my heart?

What are You inviting me to discover today?

Perhaps curiosity is the soul’s gentle way of letting us know there is something beautiful waiting to be discovered.

Quite often your heart recognizes something before your mind has had the chance to explain it. That is how your soul speaks to your heart.

Throughout my life, I have learned never to ignore those quiet moments that cause me to pause. They often become the moments that gently awaken truths I didn’t even know my heart was searching for.

The Lord often reaches us gently, not by demanding our attention, but by awakening our curiosity. A curious heart begins asking questions. A seeking heart begins looking for truth. And before long, the journey itself begins changing the one who is walking it.
